The following are some of the benefits of paying out-of-pocket rather than billing insurance companies:

• By billing your insurance company for therapy, you have granted them the right to request assessment, diagnosis, and treatment information.  

• If you pay out of pocket, The Adlerian Counseling Center is not obligated to share your treatment information with your insurance company.
  

• Paying out-of-pocket allows you and me to determine the type and term of your treatment plan, instead of the insurance company dictating what we can do and for how long.  You and I will choose what to work on in therapy.


• Some insurance companies will not pay for couples and family therapy, only individual.

• You do not have to meet criteria for a mental health diagnosis to receive therapy, nor do we have to label your diagnosis in any way.
